Cremant de Loire Vielloux is made from a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 50% Menu Pineau. Made in the traditional method, using 50 year old Chardonnay vines, it has a light fresh elegant nose of citrus and yeast with a textured palate that finishes with a fabulous zip of crisp acidity.

The vineyard is situated just 7 miles from the Southern Atlantic Ocean. This Viognier has a firm acidity with unparalleled aromatics of honeysuckle, green apple, and ripe pear. Flavours of dried apricot and white peach add to its lushness, while the steely minerality adds a refreshing element. In the mouth, it is juicy with an unctuous quality, making it an elegant wine with an intense finish.

The aim of Yvonne, who is nearly 90 years old, is to produce a wine that brings out the natural minerality of the soil. Tropical fruit is combined with stony crispness to create an outstanding white wine that is both racy and elegant.

Grapes are hand-harvested. The “Corbu” grape variety is harvested first as it’s ripen earlier. It’s vinified in stainless steel tank. Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng are harvested together (around Mid-October) and vinified together. The wine is aged in old barrel with stirring the lees (batonnage) every week. In the Spring, they blend the Corbu and the Petit/Gros Manseng together in stainless steel tank. Bottling happen at the end of the year.
